She's Growing Up and I'm Not Ready

Stacy Omorefe

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 22:6

Our oldest, Rosemary, graduated from Senior High School in July along with Keliy, our international student who finished up her senior year with us. We also had 4 of our CORM Kids graduate from Junior High- they should be going to Senior High in the next few days. So proud of each of them!

Rosemary homeschooled at Faith Roots International Academy for her Junior High and Senior High – Thank you Autumn for all that you poured into our girl!! She literally could not have done it without you (Seriously, that 6th grade Grammar lesson made my heart rate go up and I couldn’t even imagine…!!)

So now our Rosemary is taking a GAP year with us here at the CORM Children’s Village. Her days are full of working in the library, teaching in the multi-level classroom, working with the Impact One team, and hanging out with her dad a couple days a week as his personal assistant.

Rosemary on her Graduation Day

I am in denial about Rosemary being 18 and graduated from Senior High. I am also realizing that I am really not at all ready for her to leave home. I say that it’s her that isn’t ready, but…it’s me!

We are looking at some universities near us for her to attend next year. There is a really great school not too far from us and it’s in a beautiful location up in the Eastern Region Mountains. We are trusting God for this next step in the journey. He knows our Rosemary best and the perfect program for her. One thing I know is that she is brilliant and whatever she does she will excel.

Please pray for Rosemary as she studies to take her SAT’s in December.
